Top Tips for Seller Success

When participating in a Boon Supply fundraiser as a Seller there are three primary actions that you should take to support your fundraiser’s success: Send, Share, and Shop.

Before you get started, make sure to complete your Seller Registration. Once you’re registered, the fun begins…

As a Seller, your most important job is to let family and friends know about your fundraiser, what it means to you, and why you would appreciate their support. People can’t support what they don’t know about, and that’s why it’s important to spread the story of your cause far and wide. We offer several fast and easy ways to share your fundraiser, but first let’s start with our favorite (and most effective) sharing method - Boost 10.

  • What is Boost 10?

We call this tool Boost 10 because all you need to do is enter the email addresses of 10 (or more) potential supporters in order to Boost your fundraiser to success. After you enter their email addresses, we will email potential supporters on your behalf 3-5 times over the course of your fundraiser, asking them to support your fundraiser in different ways, like shopping and sharing.

  • What makes Boost so effective?

Boosting works because it’s personal. The emails we send make it clear that you’re the one asking them to contribute to your cause, and we’ve found that when supporters know the person asking for support, they are very likely to do so. The regular reminders ensure that supporting your fundraiser stays top-of-mind, but you won’t have to keep up with who to contact.

  • Why should you Boost?

The number one reason you should Boost is because it works! Sellers who Boost generate an average of 3x(!) the amount for their fundraisers than those who don’t utilize the tool.

Another great reason to Boost is because it lets us do the work for you. After you complete the steps listed in the “How do you Boost?” section below, we’ll take it from there. Throughout the course of your fundraiser, we will email family and friends 3-5 times asking for support on your behalf. The amount of time you save writing emails and follow-ups frees up your schedule, allowing you to focus on other sharing methods.

Plus, if you are participating in a school fundraiser who has opted into our prize program you’ll earn cool prizes like collectible Mystery Coops when you Boost.

  • How do you Boost?

You should login to MyFundraiser before Boosting. This will allow you to earn credit for the email address you enter and to receive credit for orders that are placed by those who access your school or organization's fundraising page through the Boost emails. After logging in, navigate to the Seller Dashboard of the fundraiser you would like to Boost. Then, click the Boost Now button and we’ll take you to the section of the Fundraiser Landing Page where you can enter email addresses for potential supporters, check the box to verify your age and consent, and click Save. We suggest that you enter at least 10 email addresses for max impact.

See... it only takes a minute!

  • A Note on Boosting

We respect your privacy, as well as the privacy of your potential supporters. We’ll never share or sell those email addresses, and we’ll only email them about your fundraiser. Plus, they can opt out of the email flow at any time. The way we’ve encrypted these email addresses to protect your privacy unfortunately means we are unable to access the actual email addresses that have been entered (but we can see the number of email addresses you entered).

We’ve designed a sharing panel that offers several ways to easily share your fundraiser with potential supporters, each method with its own strengths. To access your sharing panel, click the Share Now button on your Seller Dashboard.

Your sharing panel has four or five buttons, depending on the type of device you’re using. Each button directs potential supporters to your Fundraiser Landing Page, where they can Shop to Support or share your fundraiser with their own networks.

Here’s how each method in the sharing panel can help your fundraiser meet its goals:

  • Facebook - This button will direct you to Facebook, where you will find an automated post with a graphic asking your friends and family to Shop to Support your fundraiser. Customize the message to your liking - we always suggest letting supporters know why the fundraiser is important to you. Fun fact: we’ve helped causes like yours raise millions of dollars through Facebook alone.
  • Twitter - The same functionality as the Facebook button, but perfect for asking for support in 280 characters or less.  Tweet, tweet!
  • Email - The good ol’ fashioned way to send a personal message to a smaller group. When you use the sharing panel to share via email, you’ll have the link to your fundraiser all ready to go. Just adjust the message to your liking, add your contacts, and hit send. We’ve even designed a letter for you to email to supporters before your fundraiser ends and a thank you letter to send to each of your supporters - find those here
  • Text - The vast majority of the Boon Supply audience is on their phone, and we’ve designed the experience with that in mind. That means we’ve made it quick and easy to text your fundraiser to any contacts in your phone. Simply tap the Text It button, choose your recipients, and you’re off. Don’t forget to send to your group chats! Note: this button will only appear if you are accessing your sharing panel from a mobile device.
  • Copy Link - From here, share anywhere. Think big and try to spread the word in ways that make sense for your supporters, and your cause. Here are a few places to share your link just off the top of our heads: Instagram, Reddit, TikTok, Snapchat, Slack, Discord, Nextdoor, Pinterest, Clubhouse, Meetup, Houseparty, WeChat, Whatsapp, MeWe, and Yelp - the world is your oyster! Don’t forget to put the link in a visible spot on any of your social media profiles, so you can easily drive supporters to the link in your bio when you talk about your fundraiser.

All of the tools that we’ve listed above are available not just to you, but to anyone who knows about your fundraiser. We suggest letting your family and friends know that sharing your fundraiser is a great way for them to support you and your cause, even if they are unable to make a purchase on your behalf. Then, simply direct them to the easy to use sharing tools on your Fundraiser Landing Page.

Pro Tip: When you share your fundraiser, especially on social media, it’s great to include a personal photo that immediately tells your supporters what your fundraiser is all about. For example, use a picture of the new gym your school fundraiser will help build, or the team you’re raising money for.

Now that you’ve let family and friends know about your fundraiser, it’s time to take a look at our incredible selection of products that you can purchase to support your fundraiser. Shopping to support your fundraiser is the most direct way to create impact - a portion of every purchase you make will go straight to your fundraiser!

Our wide variety of products means there is something for everyone in your family to enjoy - from sustainable swaps to delicious gourmet treats and magazine subscriptions, and even direct donation. To get started shopping, just click the Shop Now button on your Seller dashboard.

We’ll keep track of the orders placed and the number of items purchased on your behalf (either by your or by your supporters). If you are participating in a school fundraiser who has opted into our prize program, you have the opportunity to win awesome prizes for each item purchased on your behalf. This Spring, our prize program includes everything you need to put together the coolest bedroom ever - from a door alarm that alerts you when brothers or sisters enter your territory to an inflatable LED chair with remote and even a mini fridge for access to chilly snacks without leaving your room!
